What is the Doolittle raid?
The three websites I used were:
1. The Doolittle Raid This is a credible website because it has the author of the website and contact information, along with links that work. http://www.uss-hornet.org/history/wwii/doolittle.shtml 2. The Doolittle Raid, 1942 America Strikes Back This is a credible website because it has in text citations and references. http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/doolittle.htm 3.Doolittle Raid This is a credible website because it is a museum and it has the date it was updated. http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheets.asp The first website explained that the Doolittle Raid was when America stroked back against Japan. That it was the first American air strike during WW2. Also how it demonstrated had vulnerable the Japanese islands were to attack after Pearl Harbor. It was just four months after their attack on the U.S. . That the raid had boosted America and set off a chain of attacks on Japan. The second website explained how Colonel James H. Doolittle presented the idea that the U.S. attack Japan with B-25 bombers, bombs that are usually on land but they would be transporting them through air. Right after that a top secret training program begin immediately after. The main thing they had to train for was how they were going to get a land bomb to become and air bomb. Then it went into explaining the attack and how the planes then flew until they ran out of fuel. Then eight passengers were then captured by the Japanese and four were killed. The third website did an overview of what the first two had explained. |
