What was Casablanca and what was its role?
The three websites I used:
1. Casablanca and Trident, January-May 1943 This is a credible website because it has the author of the article and the date it was updated. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/648813/World-War-II/53573/Casablanca-Trident 2. MILESTONES: 1937-1945 The Casablanca Conference,1943 This is a credible website because it is a ".gov" and comes from the office of the Historian. http://www.history.state.gov/milestones/1937-1945/casablanca 3. Casablanca (1942)-During World War 2 This is a credible website because it has the author of the article. http://www.eng3122.wordpress.com/group-5-main/1942-to-1947/casablanca-1942-during-world The first website explained that Casablanca was a port where Roosevelt and Churchill met to discuss what should happen after the victory in North Africa. It was called the Casablanca Conference where Roosevelt announced a demand for the unconditional surrender of Germany, Italy, and Japan. The second website explained who the meeting was with and where it was Casablanca, Morocco in January 14-24, 1943. It also said that Stalin had been invited but could not attend because the Red Army was engaged with Germany at that time. The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the Allied strategy against the Axis powers and to discuss the policy of "unconditional surrender". The third website had explained exactly what the first two had explained. |
